Nov 2022 A proposal of Eswatini's National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) won the best Urban Development NDC Initiative of the Year at COP 27 in Egypt at the Africa NDC Investor awards. I was leading the proposal with a team of experts and stakeholders in Eswatini. The proposal of $20million is now being developed further for submission to GCF. May 2020 Appointed Chairperson of a 7 member Task Team for Tourism and Economic Recovery: Unlocking Climate Finance by the Hon. Minister of Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs in Eswatini. The team wrote proposals and supported proposal writing (26 in total) between May 2020 until April 2023 raising $8.5million for the country. 2016-2017 Recipient of Post Doctoral Research Fellowship under SARCHI Chair of Interdisciplinary Science in Land and Natural Resource Use for Sustainable Livelihoods, Rhodes University, South Africa 2016 Recipient of the Completion Grant for PhD, North West University, South Africa 2012-2015 Recipient of North West University PhD Bursary, South Africa 2014 LEAD Fellow (Cohort 19) 2014 Study awarded “Outstanding paper of 2014″ and “Highly commended paper of 2014” by Emerald Group Publishing.
